It was a historic night for Portugal after they clinched the Euro 2016 cup for the first time ever.
On Sunday, the streets of Lisbon were filled with Portugal fans after the country defeated France, in its first major international soccer championship.
The area was awash with thousands of fans who were singing and chanting for hours
After the match ended 1-0, fireworks and music broke out across the capital where the game had been shown on television screens.
The goal was scored by substitute Eder in extra time.
Portugal became the European champions, despite losing Ronaldo after 25 minutes due to an injury.
Ronaldo, Portugal’s all-time leading scorer, went down after a heavy tackle in the eighth minute but played on before being replaced.
In 2004, the Portugal suffered defeat as a host nation to Greece, the tournament underdogs that year, in the finals.
